Switzerland vs Cameroon, Uruguay vs South Korea, Portugal vs Ghana, Brazil vs Serbia

The last remaining groups to play on Thanksgiving finally begin their World Cup campaign as Brazil and Portugal make their first World Cup 2022 appearances.

World Cup favourites Portugal are clear favorites to win Group G while Portugal are favorites in Group H. You’re likely to spend more time with your family and watching NFL football on Thursday than when you’re watching the World Cup, but there are still four games left. Take some action. Here’s what you need to know.

Switzerland vs Cameroon

5 a.m. ET Thursday, FS1

Switzerland finished third in its group at Euro 2020 but reached the quarter-finals and lost to Spain on penalties after knocking out France on penalties in the round of 16. The confidence from that Euro 2020 run should be a huge boost and we’ll take it Switzerland head straight into this one -130.

Uruguay vs South Korea

8 a.m. ET, FS1

This game is estimated to be the lowest scoring. The Uruguayan still have Edinson Cavani and Luis Suarez on the roster, although Darwin Nunes has started to take over as the front-line leader. Tottenham’s Heung Min Son is capable of taking a game on his own, especially if he finds space on the counter.

Portugal vs Ghana

11 a.m. ET, Fox

How does Manchester United’s ruckus affect the Portugal team? Captains Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes are no longer club teammates after Ronaldo’s contract expired on Tuesday. Ronaldo is set to be the team’s starting striker on Thursday, although it’s fair to wonder if Portugal would have had a better chance of winning the World Cup had he been on the bench.

Brazil vs Serbia

2 p.m. ET, Fox

Serbia isn’t a huge underdog for the World Cup favorites because of the talent on the roster. Aleksandar Mitrovic and Dusan Vlaovic form a formidable striker duo and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is a player who has long been coveted by top clubs. We’ll still take the Brazilians to win it but our preferred bet is +100 to take the under 2.5 goals.
