Sunday’s Bills-Browns game moved to Detroit, fans will get refunds on tickets purchased through the Bills or Ticketmaster

Bills EVP/COO Ron Racquia and Bills GM Brandon Beane held a press conference Thursday evening via Zoom to discuss Sunday’s game location change and other important matters, including ticket information. Here’s a short version of what Raccuia and Beane had to say.

Q: How was the decision made to move the game to Detroit?

Collect: “The decision to move the game to Detroit has everything to do with safety. For the last 48 to 72 hours we’ve really talked about security here. I want to thank County Executive Poloncarz, Governor Hochul, all of our elected officials, of course (NFL) Commissioner (Roger) Goodell and the entire league staff and Lions organization for their commitment and communication and helping to move the game forward. As I said before, our only concern was the safety of our players, our fans, our community and making sure we didn’t take away the organization that the community will need this weekend.”

Q: Will tickets be refunded?

Collection: “We’ve actually sent out an email to all existing ticket holders for the game. So there will be an opportunity for our fans to get a refund depending on how they buy their tickets. But I’d ask them to check the emails they probably should have received. About five or 10 actually. Minutes ago. They will all be returned.”

Q: Are tickets for Detroit games transferable?

Collect: “There is no transfer option. It’s really two separate transactions. Each ticket will be credited automatically depending on how it was purchased. So if they’ve purchased the bill online, it will be credited, Ticketmaster, season ticket members, directly to their season ticket account. And the new on-sale will be completely different from tomorrow. “

Q: What is the team’s travel plan?

Bin: We will try to keep a normal travel schedule. Obviously, we’re going to track the weather, but right now, we’re setting up a plane to leave sometime Saturday afternoon. We will have to wait until we hear from the airline when they can get it here. But we will try to keep it as close to our normal routine as possible. So right now, as long as the weather is what we expect for Sunday, we’ll be back after the game. You know the game is going to be at 1 so we can do our normal routine and then get back out there on Wednesday.

Q: Any disappointment about not getting a home game?

Bin: Well, I’m counting on you to rally to show all the bills to the mafia. In all seriousness, we’re hoping it still holds home-field advantage away. Fortunately it is not all over the country. We know the Billsmafia is all over, and hopefully those in the Michigan area will definitely come down. And hopefully people here who want to get out of the snow, will drive there.
