She-Hulk writer explains how the finale’s highly unexpected cameo came about

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law It was a full show Weird Marvel references and comic book deep cutsBut its head writer has now explained how its most surprising cameo came about.

Spoiler Warning: This article contains spoilers, including the final scene of the first season of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.

talking Entertainment Weekly, She-Hulk head writer Jessica Gao explained that the last-minute appearance of Bruce Banner’s son Scar was itself a last-minute decision. Although a final, out-of-there cameo was planned from the start, the writers couldn’t hold back a single thing due to real-world restrictions like the actors’ schedules.

“When we first started talking about how the season would end, we were like, ‘It would be fun if we did. A big cameo in the very last sceneAt the last minute, a big cameo from the MCU,” Gao said.

“That would be really cool, but then we realized who would be willing to do it, it depends on what their availability is, and there’s no way at the scripting stage that we’re going to be able to have any kind of guarantee of who’s going to be able to do it.

“It’s so dependent that you can’t really commit to one person in the script. So we thought it would be really cool if we could tease a new character as the last moment of the last scene. Even as a post-credits tag.”

That’s not to say the writing team didn’t have a lot of ideas, though Gao said they “went through a lot of comics to find who we could use”. Marvel boss Kevin Feige ultimately made the decision on Scar, Gao said, joking that the head of Marvel Studios could reveal how the son of the Hulk would proceed.

MCU fans didn’t have much to do on their own, as Scar didn’t have a single line of dialogue in his brief appearance at the end of She-Hulk. He comes straight from the comics, of course. In a sad story involving the Hulk, Planet Soccer and true love.

inside A 7/10 reviewWe called the finale itself “a strong enough success in other areas of the episode, with humor, fourth wall breaking, and all the cameos a girl could ask for. It doesn’t have time to unpack the scope of the injustice its hero faced last episode.”

Ryan Dinsdale is an IGN freelancer. He would talk about The Witcher all day.
