Matt LaFleur: Kylin Hill was cut because being a Packer is a privilege and we have values
Packers coach Matt LaFleur was surprisingly candid in explaining his decision to move running back village hill This week, indicating that Hill has not conducted himself the way the Packers expect from their players.
“Being a member of the Green Bay Packers, it’s a privilege,” LaFleur said. “There are standards and expectations placed on every member of this team that we expect the guys to live up to. I understand what Kailyn has been through, I know coming back from the knee injury she suffered a year ago wasn’t easy, it was pretty devastating. He’s someone we had high hopes for, and understand he’s in a loaded room, but whether your role is big or small, we expect guys to come to work and support and own that role to the best of your ability. . If you don’t, this will happen.”
Asked if the decision to cut Hill was less about what kind of football player he is than other things off the field, LaFleur replied, “Yeah, I would say so.”
Reading between the lines, LaFleur sounded like Hill — who has played just one offensive snap this season — was unhappy with his playing time behind. Aaron Jones And AJ Dillon and did not manage his illness properly. Now Hill will hope he can play with another team, one that will give him the playing time the Packers didn’t get.
