Matt Jones left the Maryland game with an apparent lower-body injury
Matt Jones was carted off the field by Ohio State’s training staff after suffering an apparent leg injury in the fourth quarter of the Maryland game.
With just over three minutes left in the Buckeyes’ matchup with the Terrapins, Jones fell to the turf while blocking for Dallan Haden. He remained on the ground holding his right leg until the team’s medical staff lifted him to his feet and helped him to the sideline.

Jones has dealt with a foot injury in recent weeks but has played through the illness. At this time, it’s unclear if that pre-existing injury caused Ohio State offensive lineman Hayden to go down after the run.
Jones was replaced by Enoch Bimahi on the rest of the drive, which resulted in a 45-yard field goal for Noah Ruggles.
