Kelly Rowland tells AMS crowd to “chill out” after Bose and Chris Brown’s canceled Michael Jackson tribute

Chris Brown Won this award American Music Awards 2022 and audible gasps were heard from the audience in the Microsoft Theater.

During the live broadcast of the AMAs 2022 on ABC, Kelly Rowland Favorite Make took the stage to announce the nominees for R&B Artist. Artists up for the trophy were Brent Fayez, Givon, Lucky Day, The Weeknd and Brown.

After Rowland Brown was announced as the winner, the crowd’s boos were audible and the camera panned out to show the entire theater. Rowland was surprised by the audience’s reaction, and as he tried to continue his presentation duties, he asked the crowd to “chill out”.

“Now Chris Brown isn’t here tonight so I’m accepting this award on his behalf,” he said before telling the audience, “Excuse me… chill out.”

Rowland then continued, “But I wanted to say to Chris, thank you so much for making great R&B music and I want to thank him for being an incredible performer. I’ll take this award—bring it to you. I love you. Congratulations. . And congratulations to all the nominees in this category.”

Brown was scheduled to perform a Michael Jackson tribute at the AMAs but canceled at the last minute. was an artist shared a video on Instagram “You serious?” Show rehearsal of his musical number with captions

“There could have been a lot of performances but they canceled me for unknown reasons,” Brown said in the comments.
