‘It makes me a better person’
while talking to Mr. Porter For a recent interview, the “Cake by the Ocean” singer, 33, revealed why she doesn’t share the more personal aspects of her relationship with Turner, 26, with the public.
“I want to feel like an open book” she told the publication. “But when we started dating, I realized that I didn’t have a ton of things that were just for me. And ultimately, having something for myself makes me a better person.”
“There have been many situations in my career where, e.g [Styles], one little thing is blown out of proportion,” Jonas said. “It had this insidious effect, which is why I decided to take a mental health break from social media. Now I’m addicted to not knowing what’s going on.”

Jonas told PEOPLE in August that he’s still trying to balance creating new music and performing, as well as being the father of a newborn baby.
“This is an adjustment period” Jonas said at the time. “I wake up every day just thrilled to be able to sing or act and create different projects and have a beautiful family, so it feels like a dream come true.”
