‘Dancing With The Stars’ Season 31: Charlie D’Amelio, Mark Ballas Mirror Ball Champions

TikTok star Charlie D’Amelio and Mark Ballas Season 31 Mirror Ball Trophy Champion.

The pair were announced as the winners of the 31st season of “Dancing with the Stars,” beating out fellow celebrities Shangela, Wayne Brady and Gabby Winde, who were paired with pro partners Gleb Savchenko, Whitney Carson and Val Chmerkovskiy, respectively.

On Tuesday’s “Good Morning America,” D’Amelio and Ballas opened up about their win.

“I think for me, I really gave everything I had on this journey and I got a lot out of it, whether it was confidence in my dancing, new friends, you know, memories that I’ll remember forever,” D’Amelio said. He said he was “very happy” and “grateful” for the experience.

Ballas called the experience, his first time in the “DWTS” ballroom in five years, “fantastic.”

“I had a really good time, made a great friend and had a great time making out and dancing with Charlie,” she added. “And to be on the floor with all my comrades, I grew up with all of them. I loved it. I had a really good time.”

Show-stopping redemption and freestyle dancing

For their redemption routine, Brady performed a quick step to Jackie Wilson’s “(Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher and Higher” while Shangela performed a quick step to “Queen B” by Rochelle Diamante. Each earned a score of 36.

But Windy’s Cha Cha’s “Grown” from Pete Rodriguez’s “I Like It (Like That)” and Little Mix’s D’Amelio’s Tongue wowed the judges, each earning their scores a 40.

The final four couples then participate in a freestyle round. Brady took to the dance floor first with his dance partner Carson with his “Superbowl” routine to a mix of Bruno Mars’ “24K Magic” and Ciara and Chameleonaire’s song “Get Up,” which earned him a 40.

TikTok star D’Amelio Pinar earned 40 for his moving freestyle performance to Toprak’s “Us Again,” which told a story about his love and loss of dance and then love of dance again.

Winde also earned a 40 from Chicago for her sizzling “Cell Block Tango,” choreographed by Chmerkovskiy’s wife, Jenna Johnson.

But it was Shangela’s electrifying freestyle to Destiny’s Child’s “Survivor” and RuPaul’s “Call Me Mother,” with Shangela’s partner Savchenko in drag as Natasha, that brought the entire ballroom to its feet.

“I forgot to vote because I was completely enthralled,” Len Goodman said at the end of Shangela’s performance.

“It even had chicken in it,” he said, pointing to the moment in their dance when Shangela tossed him a fried chicken leg.

Cheryl Burke says goodbye

Also taken to the dance floor for the last time Cheryl Burkewho announced her retirement from the show over the weekend after 25 seasons.

Two-time Mirrorball champion Barry Manilow delivered a fierce routine to “Copacabana (Copay)” with two of his favorite dance partners, Louis Van Amstel and Pasha Pashkov.

Before taking the mic, co-host Tyra Banks called Burke a living legend and said Burke was her first memory of “Dancing with the Stars.”

“This is my family,” Burke began. “Before today, behind the scenes, every single person who was a part of this cast. Every single person, thank you for believing in me and thank you for helping me find my voice. You guys are a part of my identity and I thank each and every one of you.”

“Pro dancers, celebrities, thank you for pushing me to be the best artist I can be. I love you all,” she said as the crowd began chanting her name.

Len Goodman gets his own Mirrorball trophy

He was saying goodbye good man, who announced her retirement from “Dancing with the Stars” last week. The judge, known as “Tough” on the show, was honored with a video montage of all his memorable moments.

“All good things must come to an end,” Goodman says in the video. “For me, it’s an honor to be a part of ‘Dancing with the Stars’.”

“I will miss the judges. Carrie Ann [Inaba] and Bruno [Tonioli]We’ve been together since season 1. And then Derek [Hough], I think he’s brilliant. I loved being a part of it — it was great,” she added. “Thank you so much for letting me be a part of ‘DWTS.’ It will always be with me. It was very memorable.”

When the montage ended, co-host Alfonso Ribeiro surprised Goodman with his own mirror ball trophy.

“That’s great and thank you so much,” he said as the audience chanted his name and Inaba, Hough and Tonioli held up their “10” paddleboards. “It’s a pleasure to be a part of ‘Dancing with the Stars.’ It’s just the cherry on top.”

Throughout the evening, past celebrities who have competed on the show paid tribute to Goodman, including Jerry Springer, Sean Johnson and Christy Yamaguchi.

“I remember how hard Mark and I worked those first 10 from you, and when it finally came, pure elation,” Yamaguchi said.

“When I came on the show, I was an insecure little girl, and with your guidance, love and support I became a woman,” added Kelly Osbourne, who competed in the show’s 9th season. “And I will never be able to thank you enough.”

‘DWTS’ 2023 Tour Lineup Revealed

If you can’t get enough of “Dancing with the Stars,” you’ll be able to catch some of them on the road while they’re on tour.

During the show, it was announced that Winde would perform live for all tour stops across North America. Also performing live in select cities will be Charlie and Heidi D’Amelio, “CODA” actor Daniel Durant and “Jersey Shore” star Vinny Guadagnino.

“We love it so much, we’re alive, we can feel that energy and nothing really means more to us than that,” said “Dancing with the Stars” pro Emma Slater. “We can’t wait for you to come and see it.”
