Amazon orders multiple Marvel-Sony shows, starting with ‘Silk’

There were other shows based on the “Silk” series and Sony-controlled Marvel characters Reported as basically working Back in September 2020. It is unknown at this time what other Marvel characters will appear on the Amazon show, although Sony currently controls more than 900 such characters associated with the Spider-Man franchise.

Sony has released multiple Spider-Man live-action films in the past and is currently working with Marvel Studios on a rebooted film franchise starring Tom Holland through Columbia Pictures. Sony is also behind “Into the Spider-Verse,” which won the Academy Award for Best Animated Film in 2019. Two sequels to that film are in the works, the first of which — “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” — will hit theaters in June 2023.

To date, Sony has released the live-action film “Venom” and its sequel “Let There Be Carnage” starring Tom Hardy, as well as “Morbius” starring Jared Leto. A third “Venom” film is currently in development, while Sony is also working on film versions of the characters “Kraven the Hunter” starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson And “Madame Webb” starring Dakota JohnsonAmong several others.
